How platforms can help you: Transact

With the ever changing taxation environment and the need to plan for tax efficiency, we were pleased to add Stellar Asset Management discretionary portfolios to the Transact platform. These, like other shareholdings in certain companies listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), qualify for Business Relief. In the case of AIM shares this provides relief from Inheritance Tax (IHT) on the transfer of relevant business assets at a rate of 100%, provided the shares are held for at least two years.

Additions like this to the platform help to contribute to our reputation as the leading UK platform, known for development and innovation.

We offer the widest range of funds possible while remaining asset neutral. Asset types currently available on platform include cash, term deposits, mutual funds, unit trusts, equities, investment trusts, OEICs, SICAVs, offshore funds, property partnerships, hedge funds, structured products, Gilts, ETFs and VCTs.

This wide range of assets combined with the widest range of wrappers allows you to view and manage the whole of your clients’ investments, that you advise upon, more easily in one place, and in one consolidated view.

It is also possible to link investments within Transact Portfolios held by the same investor and their direct family. Portfolios can be linked regardless of portfolio size to benefit from the tiered charging structure. By combining assets in this way, an investor can benefit from the lower Transact annual commission charges applicable to larger investment portfolios. Our charging structure is completely transparent. We state all of our charges – with no hidden extras. Some important things you should know about the cost of using Transact include:

  • Transact rebate all interest received on cash deposits back to clients
  • Transact only charge once per wrapper type regardless of how many secondary wrappers a client wants to open
  • Transact do not charge extra for additional administration of any kind.

The alerts and reports available also help you make use of all available tax allowances. The platform can also record off platform assets via AssetMemo, enabling each client to view their entire holdings.

Technology is only part of the solution as we provide dedicated on boarding from our Business Development and Adviser Support Managers at the outset, and on-going support from dedicated regional Client Service Managers, all backed up with support from our Technical Services team.

At Transact we have been working with advisers since 1999, listening to what advisers want and developing what advisers need. We are financially strong, develop our own software and offer a personal service that we believe is second to none and has enabled us to win over 65 awards since we first began.
